Electronics is a subject that is impossibly difficult to explain or teach easily. It is completely open-ended, with no clear starting point, and no clear conclusion. Aircraft electronics range from 50 year-old vacuum tube devices, to integrated computer/display devices. This text aims to explain the nature and function of devices used in modern aircraft. Whether the device is old or new, it will have the same function in an aircraft. Devices explained in this text include, amongst other things, all types of signal generators, amplifiers, thermocouple devices, power limiters, regulators, power supplies, and transformers. |
