Aviation Maintenance Technician Series:

Airframe Text Volume 1

* The Airframe texts are divided into two texts:
  • Volume 1 - This volume covers subjects associated with airframe structures, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Metallic and non-metallic structures are covered, plus assembly and rigging.
  • Volume 2 covers other airframe systems such as electrical, fuel, atmosphere control, instruments, communications & navigation, ice & rain control, and fire protection.
ASA's textbook series, directed by well-known author Dale Crane, consists of a set of complete and up-to-date texts for FAA certification of maintenance technicians. The curriculum meets FAR Part 147 requirements and Subject Matter Knowledge Codes from the FAA mechanic knowledge tests. They are written and designed for at-home, classroom, or college-level training. These comprehensive textbooks include colored charts, tables and illustrations throughout, in addition to an extensive glossary, index, and additional career information.

A study guide is included within each textbook in the form of Study Question sections, with Answer keys printed at the end of each chapter. These can be used for evaluation by an instructor or for self-testing. ASA's mechanic textbooks are all-inclusive -- no separate workbook is needed by the student or instructor.

These textbooks were created to set a different study approach for maintenance technician training. Many schools prefer the integrated, all-in-one textbook approach.
