Everything in IFR flight is regulated - even emergencies! It is a most important part of IFR training to review the procedures to be followed in the event of unexpected in-flight occurences. The major emergencies for the IFR pilot are engine failure and loss of communication. Sure, there are lesser emergencies, but they are not nearly so demanding as these two! It is always useful for the IFR pilot to review the responses required in an IFR emergency, and this video (shown on the right) helps to reinforce the response pattern.
