The FAA A&P Handbooks are the original
references for preparation for A&P (USA) and AME (Canada/UK)
written exams. Although these books have been around for many
years, they still contain the core of the FAA-approved basics of
aircraft repair technology. Newer versions of these books are in
print from various publishers, including ASA & Jeppesen. The
four books in the FAA series are:
- AC65-9A General (math, electrics, hydraulics, fittings)
- AC65-12A Powerplants (piston & turbine)
- AC65-15A Airframe (This book)
- AC43.13 Aircraft Inspection, Repairs, and Alterations
(including Acceptable Methods of Repair)
The core technologies in this series have also been updated and
presented as alternative handbooks by ASA Publications, Jeppesen,
and McGraw-Hill Books. Each publisher has its own ideas about how
best to present and update the core FAA materials in the FAA
series. The other series are also included in this catalog. |
