This is the basic Canadian government-issue flight training
text for use in the Canadian flight training curriculum. It is
available in English or French langauge versions. A simplified
version of ASA's Flight Training Manual, it
is the standard issue text because of the unique Canadian
requirement for availability of equivalent French and English
language texts. As with all bilingual publications, the quality is
only "average". Its first requirement is to meet the Canadian
bilingual training requirements. The aeronautics is secondary.
ASA's Flight Training Manual (English language only) covers
the same topics, but to a much greater level of clarity and detail.
For Canadian primary flight training, this book gets the job done.
This book can be augmented by the Flight Training video series. These excellent, high-quality videos explain most of the air lessons with air-to-air photography, computer graphics, and "left-seat" demonstrations. English-speaking aviators usually prefer the more complete ASA manual listed above. |
