This is an excellent how-to-do-it manual for technicians who need to recover componenets or homebuilders who may be covering an entire aircraft. It covers all the chemical options (nitrate,butyrate,hybrid dopes, thinners, fungicides, etc), fabric alternatives, equipment, fasteners and fittings. It covers all the techniques such as patching, envelopes, and gluing). It shows how to handle entire wings single-handed. But it doesn't cover our favorite method of apply dope: using paint rollers! This is a good book for getting started; home-brew solutions like using paint rollers will come easily once the basics have been figured out. |
