The spiral-bound text contains 244 illustrations to assist in the learning process and has questions at the end of each chapter to confirm the material has been understood. The manual is written in "plain English" and is easy to read and understand by candidates of all educational levels and by candidates whose second language is English. The manuals contain questions as an integral part of the manual. A supplemental workbook is not required.

The author, Dale Nielsen, is a veteran flight instructor who flies high-performance geophysical resource-mapping and air photo aircraft in western Canada for Selkirk Resources of Richmond, BC.
