Well, you've mastered the takeoff, and managed to
get airborne and headed away from the airport. Sooner or later you
must return. How does the pilot of a light aircraft get oriented to
an airport, sort out the many runways, find the runway in use at
this moment, and join with the other aircraft trying to land at the
same time? There are simple procedures to be learned that keep all
the aircraft out of each other's way, and allow each to line up
with the active runway and land in turn. It's half good manners,
and half simple organization! Both parts are explained in this
video on joining the traffic circuit at any VFR airport.
