This is an excellent desktop PC ATD (Aviation Training Device) suitable for introductory training for all VFR and IFR curricula. As a training device, this model has FAA approval for training purposes. Note that a PC ATD does not entirely replace your training aircraft - but it sure does replace a lot of expensive airplane flight time! The hardware consists of the very high quality Cirrus Mooney yoke, plus Cirrus rudders and throttle quadrant. The custom-designed AV-1 Avionics stack permits easy tuning of radios without resorting to the use of the computer mouse during busy approaches. The latest On Top software package is included. A really good high-resolution monitor is required to get all the goodies on-screen. |
| The On Top PCATD includes the
high-quality PFC Cirrus USB rudder pedals.
Monitor and PC, however, are not included. If you have a "donor PC", you can try On Top up close and personal by downloading the How-To file . Pay attention to hardware requirements! Next download the actual On Top demo(11mb). |

Certification:
The On Top PC-ATD is certified by the FAA and Transport Canada as a loggable flight training device. It can be certified by other jurisdictions, too, although the certification requirements may vary from the FAA's requirements. In Canada, for instance, the On Top PC-ATD must be stationary, and its components must be bolted down and immovable so that it doesn't get moved around or used for other purposes. Your local FAA or Transport Canada contact will be able to help you with this process.
This package is similar to the slightly more up-market On Top Basic ATD, but it doesn't have the Hobbs Meter, or the extra console switches.
