The Instrument Procedures Manual text derived from the unique Canadian requirement that all aviation procedures be equally available in French and English languages, to ensure uniformity in all aviation procedures throughout Canada. It is not a uniquely specialized IFR text - it's merely one of several simlar IFR texts, except that it's also avaliable in the French language. It explains all the normal ICAO IFR procedures, as well as explanations of IFR equipment operation in Canada. There are some very minor differences from other countries, but no major operational differences. Its chief strength is that it's available in either French or English language. Some English-language Canadian IFR schools prefer to use ASA's Austrlian IFR text, Instrument Flying, which is interchangable with any Canadian IFR text. |
