Airplane Flying Handbook

FAA-H-8083-3 (Jeppesen reprint)

* This is the Jeppesen reprint of the FAA's 1999 edition of the Airplane Flying Handbook. It introduces basic pilot skills and aeronautical knowledge to student pilots. It is also beneficial to pilots who wish to improve their flying proficiency and aeronautical knowledge, those pilots preparing for additional certificates or ratings, and flight instructors engaged in the instruction of both students and certificated pilots.

This is the official FAA reference on learning to fly, and many test questions for all FAA knowledge exams for pilots come from this reference.

NOTE: This version of the FAA-H-8083-3 is not the same as ASA's version, which is "FAA-H-8083-3A". ASA's version does NOT include tailwheel airplanes, seaplanes, nor ski-planes; ASA's edition includes turbine-powered airplanes. These types ARE included in this Jeppesen edition.
