Iron Knuckles DC-9-30

for Microsoft FS2004/2002

* Few aircraft have had as much of a direct impact on the traveling public as the DC-9. Originally designed as a short-hop, high-frequency airliner, it was the forerunner of the modern RJ, in spite of being about twice the size of the newer RJs. First introduced in 1965 as a -10 model, the DC-9 and its many derivatives (the MD-80, Super 80, & Boeing 717), continue to carry passengers throughout the world with great reliability. Many are now also being converted to freighter configurations. These are still superior short-haul airliners and freighters. Flight One Software has reproduced this timeless classic for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002 users as part of its new Iron Knuckles series.

The Iron Knuckles DC-9-30 allows the user to experience what it was like to fly a commercial jet aircraft before the era of glass cockpits and modern flight management systems. Iron Knuckles transports you to a time when commercial pilots navigated their aircraft through complex procedures and situations that relied on analog gauges, extreme discipline and hard math in order to arrive safely to their destination.

The Iron Knuckles DC-9-30 has been developed for Microsoft's Flight Simulator 2002 and takes advantage of the latest design techniques while providing the look and feel of an older and classic DC-9 style cockpit. The Iron Knuckles DC-9 cockpit allows you to access multiple sub-panel assemblies for a more realistic experience and proper pilot perspective. The DC-9 includes high quality sounds for an unmatched level of realism.

The Iron Knuckles DC-9 also includes Flight One's proprietary Text-o-Matic aircraft repainting utility. Text-o-Matic allows you to download and install additional aircraft paint schemes and have them flying in a matter a minutes. The DC-9 includes documentation, checklists, specifications, and aircraft history to help you understand and fly this classic aircraft.

It takes a special skill-set to fly heavy aircraft on steam gauges through complex airspace (the only FMS available is the one between the pilot's ears). This package will give you a complete workout on this type of aircraft that will be with us for at least another 20 years.
