The FAA's Aviation Weather text has been a consistently used reference by US flying schools for decades. The reason is that it contains all the basics of weather experienced by the lower 48 states, and provides a good basic reference for pilots flying in this area. It's a bit weak on Arctic or Alaskan weather, but otherwise it's a very complete primary weather text. |

All of the FAA's weather products are described in this manual. The FAA provides a wide range of data products to aviators, and they are being continuously updated and improved. This latest edition includes everything from area forecasts to TAFs, METARs, RAREPs, to details of the satellite data gathering systems. This is an excellent reference for anyone who needs to be able to explain any weather service product. |
