In Canada there exists the unique requirement for identical English/French aeronautics texts in order that instructors can teach from the same basic theory in either language. This booklet, available in either French or English, covers helicpter theory of flight in a complete, but very sparse, manner. Subjects discussed include airfoils, rotors, blade effects, torque, vibration, etc. Helicopter handling and flight topics are presented in a companion biligual series Flight Training Manual: Helicopter. English-speaking pilots who don't feel constrained to meet the Canadian bilingual curriculum requirements may want to consider the very popular New Zealand text Principles of Helicopter Flight. |
