JAR Ops Part 1 is the regulatory environment for
civil aircraft used for commercial air transport in Europe. The
original regulatory material ("the JARs") is cumbersome, difficult
to organize, and poorly indexed. The original JARs are also
ridiculously expensive! Pilots who are required to know this
material are at a serious disadvantage when trying to master the
required regulatory knowledge.
This book is meant to be a quick reference to save the pilot from carrying several large three-ring loose-leaf volumes of original JAR material. The material is better organized than the original, with a comprehensive index, thereby enabling the pilot/user to be able to locate and understand the JAR Ops material much more easily. This book contains all the required JARs regulatory material for any pilot preparing for CPL or ATPL exams. At present, the author is the chief pilot (B206 and AStar fleet) for a British petroleum services operation. He has extensive worldwide experience flying large helicopters for on-and-off shore operations in FAR, CAR, and JAR regulatory environments, and he has authored pilot regs manuals for all of these operating environments. Professional review:"_should have
appeared 20 years ago. It would have saved many prospective pilots
lots of anguish and budding Air Taxi Operators lots of money -
there is much useful technical information, making the book
suitable reference material for most pilots, from airline to PPL
instructor, including helicopter pilots - easy reading, even when
it comes to weighty matters such as air and company law - in a
style that actually makes it worth reading - performance made easy
