The Aviation Instructor's Handbook is
written for the ground, flight, and maintenance instructor. It
provides the foundation for beginning instructors to understand and
apply the fundamentals of instructing. Experienced instructors will
find the new and updated information useful for improving their
effectiveness in training activities.
Chapters are dedicated to learning theory and the teaching process, critiquing the student performance, enhancing instructional presentation, instructor responsibilities, professionalism, in-flight teaching techniques, and judgment/aeronautical decision-making. The book concludes with material for planning instructional activities and continuing professional development. Appendices provide sample test items and instructor endorsements. Although this text is useful for any flight instructor in any country, Canadian flight instructors should use the Flight Instructor Guide because it was developed in parallel with the French language flight training curriculum. This text is still a good reference text for Canadian instructors. |
