ASA's micro E6-B flight computer is a pocket-size version of the full-size E6-B. In all respects (except for size) it is identical to the full-size model. The E6B is the standard manual navigation computer used in aviation, and occasionally, by boaters. It calculates any rate problem (for example, rate-of-climb, rate-of-fuel-consumption, rate-of-groundspeed. It also calculates drift which you need to know if you're trying to figure out where to point the nose of your craft. These metal E6B models will last a lifetime. Maybe longer. Your kids may fight over who gets it after you're gone. The cardboard models will last through the primary phase of your flight training. By then you may want to get one of the electronic models. Neither of the E6B's needs batteries! |
