FAA/FITS Initiative

The FAA/FITS initiative is focused on the redesign of GA flight training in order to focus on simulator-based life-like training. The key is simulation+instruction. Scenario-based training is used to enhance GA pilots' flight skills by ensuring that simulation is always accompanied by high-quality instruction. In the airline industry, FITS objectives are reached with enormous and expensive flight simulators combined with experienced airline instructors. In spite of the prevalence of popular flight sim packages, this level of sophistication still hasn't reached most General Aviation (GA) pilots unless they sign up for one-on-one with a flight instructor. Personal flight sims don't usually come with a flight instructor!

Now Aero Training Products is pleased to be able to identify certain software packages that meet the FAA/FITS criteria for quality, expertly-managed, personal pilot training at a reasonable cost:

The key difference between these packages, and normal game-type flight sims, is that artificial intelligence is used to ensure a high rate of realistic learning for the pilot. This is a fundamental shift in PC flight simulation.
