How-to-measure Yourself

for an Aviation Shirt

Short-sleeve and long-sleeve shirts have the same torsos. To determine your sleeve length for a long-sleeve shirt, take a tape measure and start your measurement from the base of your neck (at the bottom of the back of your shirt collar - the point shown as "x" in the illustration at the top left); from there, measure out to the tip of your shoulder (measurement "a"); then down to the tip of your elbow (measurement "b"); then to the center of the bump that is your wrist-bone at point "y"; this last measurement is your SLEEVE length "c"). A typical sleeve length will be in the range of 32" to 36".

For long sleeve shirts, select a shirt from the table below and specify your sleeve length. Some long-sleeve shirts are a special order (3 weeks delivery time).

The other measurement (shown bottom left) you need is your NECK size; measure around your neck with the tape where your collar is normally positioned. Add 1/2" to this measurement. ATP stocks shirts in the range of 14-1/2" to 18". This is the only measurement you need for short-sleeve shirts. With the above measurements at hand you can order with confidence from our catalog listings.

Standard Shirt Measurements: You can select a standard shirt with a standard sleeve length from the following table (no minimum order). Or you can specify a standard shirt with a different sleeve length (minimum order of 4 shirts). Put special order requirements in the comments field of your order, and we'll confirm by email.
